Registration on MawaddahMatrimony is very easy:
Simply point your mouse to Create Profile, enter your email address in the box, and click on Register
Answer the simple questions about yourself, (your location, occupation, physical details, interests, etc) and also answer the questions for what you are seeking in a potential spouse… (Answering these questions should take 5 to 10 minutes). And you can always edit or update them later at any time.
Optionally upload a picture if you feel comfortable, and feel free to password-protect your picture if you wish, so that nobody can see your picture unless you explicitly share your photo-password with them.
Once we receive your completed profile, we do some evaluation of your profile for completeness. If everything looks good, we usually approve your profile within 24 hours of profile creation.
After your profile is approved, you can login to your profile, and begin your search for a compatible spouse Insha'Allah.
MawaddahMatrimony was started to help Muslims around the world to get married. Our main focus is not to make money, but to gain the pleasure of Allah (swt) by serving the ummah. However, it is difficult to maintain, improve, and provide excellent service without some monetary contributions. Therefore, we charge a very nominal fee of US$15 per month to members from [USA, Canada, and UK] only. For members from all other countries of the world, membership is free at this time.
For your safety, please make sure you select good complex passwords, that are not too easy to guess. Good passwords are usually at least 8 characters long, with a mixture of uppercase and lowercase letters, and numbers and special characters. Make sure they are not easy to guess English words found in the dictionary. Also make sure that you never give your password to anyone!
After logging into your account, you can perform various types of searches for potential matches. You can do a Quick search, or Advanced search, Keyword search, and many other customized searches based on criteria that is important to you. Look at the various search options under the Partner Search menu towards the top-right. On your profile dashboard page, if you scroll down slightly, you will also see suggested matches for you.
You will see Members I am Looking For – (these are members that match the Partner Preference criteria that you have set in your profile).
You will see Members Looking for Me – (these are members whose preference criteria matches you… So essentially they are looking for somebody like you).
You will also see My Perfect Matches – (these are members that you are looking for, who are also looking for someone like you. These are basically your perfect matches (based on the information you entered in your profile).
Note: in order to receive good match suggestions, you must enter accurate information in your profile partner preferences.
After running the desired search option, you will get a list of results of members that matched your search criteria. You can then review the profile details of each of the members in the result list.
When reviewing profiles, if you come across a member that seems compatible or interesting to you, you can then Express Interest in them, or you can directly Send Message to them. That member will be notified that you are interested in them.
You can then wait to receive a response back from that member. (Of course, other members could initiate contact with you as well). Once you have received an Interest or Message from a member, please feel free to exchange more detailed messages with them. Ask them questions to assess a deeper level of compatibility with that person.
Please consult our Advice Page to get an idea of what topics to discuss as you are getting to know someone. This exchange of messages to establish compatibility can take days, weeks, or months depending on you.
Please keep your messages halal, respectful, and appropriate, and please do keep your parent (or Wali) involved in the communication to avoid any haram or inappropriate activity. If at some point during the conversation you conclude that the person is not right for you, politely inform them that you are no longer interested, and feel free to search for and initiate contact with other members at that point.
After establishing basic compatibility with a suitable member, you should plan to meet that member in person, with your mahram present. We highly recommend that you also pray Salat-ul-Istikhara to ask Allah (swt) to guide you to the right person. If things continue to proceed well, and both of you and your families feel positive about things, then you can move onto the discussion of Marriage Insha'Allah.

Especially for sisters, please have a Wali (or some Male Muslim figure that you trust) involved in the communication with the other party to avoid any fitnah.
Especially in the beginning (before you or your family had a chance to personally meet the other person), refrain from giving any sensitive personal information about yourself such as Social Security Numbers, Drivers License, Home address, etc.
Refrain from sharing your email address and phone number with the other person until you have established at least some basic level of compatibility. And when you do share email/phone, allow the other party to get in touch with your Wali.
Use your best judgement to assess whether the person is sincere and truthful, before you drop your guard. Always be cautious, just in case. Of course, we will do our due diligence to ensure that all members on the website are genuine and trustable to create a safe atmosphere Insha'Allah.
The information we display on your profile has no sensitive or personally identifiable information (other than your photo, which is optional, and is also password-protectable). Your information on our website is secure and private, so that people cant simply google your name and come across your profile! There is nothing to be concerned about the info displayed in your profile.
Of course, refrain from listing your phone number, or email address on your profile, because we will reject such a profile. Once again, you may choose to password-protect your photos for additional precaution. This way you control who gets to see your pictures. Feel free to frequently change your photo password.
